The guava plant (Psidium guajava) is a small evergreen shrub or tree that belongs to the Myrtaceae family. It typically grows to a height of 3-10 meters (10-33 feet) but can sometimes reach up to 15 meters under optimal conditions. The tree has a wide, spreading canopy with smooth, thin, copper-colored bark that peels away in flakes.

Fruit: The fruit is round or oval, ranging in size from 2 to 12 cm, with a thin, often slightly bumpy rind that can be green, yellow, or maroon when ripe. Inside, the flesh can vary in color (white, pink, red) and is juicy with numerous tiny, hard seeds.

Growth Conditions: Guava plants thrive in tropical and subtropical climates. They are tolerant of drought conditions but prefer well-drained soils with ample sunlight.

Uses: Guava is cultivated for its sweet, fragrant fruit, which is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. The leaves and bark are also used in traditional medicine for their antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
