The HMT Kohinoor is a watch from Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT), a Central Public Sector Enterprise of the Government of India. HMT was established in 1953 in Bengaluru and began manufacturing watches in 1961 in collaboration with Citizen Watch Co. of Japan.

Some say the Kohinoor is a masterpiece and that HMT watches are popular for their 17-jewel manual wind mechanical movements. The 1983 Kohinoor has a manual HMT0231 movement with a power reserve of 38 hours and a frequency of 18,000 vph.
