Nasturtiums are a warm-season annual that bloom best in the cooler temperatures of spring and fall. In India, you can sow nasturtium seeds in late spring or early summer after the danger of cold nights has passed and the soil has warmed up. The plants will produce flowers from the beginning of the flowering period in June until the first frosts in autumn.

African marigolds, also known as Tagetes erecta, can be sown in India year-round, but the best time to start them is between May and July. They typically flower 2–3 months after sowing.
